The Mega Record & CD Fair, organized by Record Planet, will take place in the Dutch city of Den Bosch on April 11–12. Now in its 62nd year, the fair draws collectors from around the world to the Brabanthallen exhibition halls, which cover an area roughly equivalent to two soccer fields.
The Mega Record & CD Fair is such a monumental event that the prestigious Financial Times has dubbed it the largest vinyl fair on the planet. It brings together sellers and collectors from all corners of the globe—from the United States to Brazil and South Africa, all the way to Japan and South Korea.

From opera to hardcore techno
What makes the Mega Record & CD Fair unique is its incredible range of genres. There isn’t a single musical genre that isn’t represented here. Metalheads in leather jackets jostle side by side with jazz enthusiasts in glasses. EDM and trance lovers search for rare white labels, while opera and folk fans hunt for forgotten recordings from the middle of the last century.

A culture that never dies
Although the end of physical media has been predicted many times in today’s digital age, Record Planet proves the exact opposite. The fair isn’t just about business; it’s a cultural festival. The program regularly features autograph sessions, exhibitions of rare posters and memorabilia, presentations of new books on music, and even live performances. It is a place where generations connect—from those who lived through the golden era of the 1960s to young teenagers who are just discovering the magic of vinyl. This year, for example, former Manfred Man singer Mike d’Abo will perform live.

Practical Information
On Saturday, April 11, the event is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; on Sunday, April 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission at the door is 15 euros; advance tickets are 12.50 euros. Children under 15 accompanied by an adult are admitted free of charge.
But Record Planet isn’t just about one massive event. Smaller, more intimate record fairs are held throughout the Netherlands—in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Haarlem.
