16. October, 2025

From 23 to 25 October 2025, the German city of Ulm will host the next edition of the Internationale Briefmarken-Börse Ulm – one of Europe’s largest gatherings of stamp collectors. For three days, the Messe Ulm exhibition centre will become a hub of philatelic activity, bringing together collectors, dealers and postal administrations from all over the world. And the Sberatel fair will once again be part of it!

This year’s event will feature around eighty exhibitors, and visitors can look forward to an engaging accompanying programme. One of the highlights will be the presentation of the book Briefmarken – Hobby, Investment und Wertanlage by Czech philatelic expert and promoter Radek Novák. It is an expanded version of his successful debut Postage Stamps – A Hobby or an Investment?. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Radek Novák in person at a book-signing session on the opening day of the fair, Thursday 23 October, in the foyer of the exhibition centre, where he will be available throughout the day.

As in previous years, the Sberatel fair will also take part in the Ulm event, traditionally inviting visitors and exhibiting traders to Prague. Helping to create a welcoming atmosphere will be the excellent cold-hopped Bakalář beer from the Rakovník brewery, which all visitors to the Sberatel stand can sample free of charge. It is hardly surprising that the Sberatel stand regularly ranks among the most popular at the fair.

Today, the Bakalář brewery is one of the few independent industrial breweries remaining in the Czech Republic. It brews all its beers using traditional methods and is entitled to label its products with the protected geographical indication Czech Beer. The brewery produces the brands Bakalář, Černovar and Pražačka, and over the years has received numerous prestigious domestic and international awards. Rakovník itself is a picturesque town located about forty kilometres west of Prague and forty-five kilometres north-east of Plzeň.

Exhibitors from Germany and abroad will bring to Ulm a wide range of stamps, postal history items, covers, postcards, accessories and specialist literature. Alongside traditional dealer and auction house stands, several postal administrations will also be represented – including those of Spain, Austria, Lithuania, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Luxembourg, the United Nations Postal Administration, and of course Deutsche Post.

A special attraction will once again be the competitive exhibition Postgeschichte – live, where the prestigious Goldenes Posthorn (Golden Post Horn) award is presented each year for the best postal history exhibit. Visitors will be able to watch the judging live and draw inspiration for their own collections.

Collectors can also look forward to special cancellations, FDCs and limited-edition stamps issued exclusively for the fair.

Admission to the fair is €5, while entry is free for children and young people under 16. The exhibition will be open on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
