The Sberatel trade fair, which is filled to capacity, will take place this year from September 5 to 6. Nearly 240 exhibitors from around the world are coming to Prague, and a whole range of rarities and curiosities will be on display.

“We are seeing enormous interest in this year’s event, with many new companies coming to Prague,” says Jindřich Jirásek, director of the fair.

After a long break, the oldest British dealer Stanley Gibbons and the Austrian Mint are returning to Sběratel, while newcomers include gold dealers C. Hafner and Sincona. As usual, leading global dealers and traders such as Rauch, Künker, Feldman, Emporium Hamburg, and Heritage Auctions will also be present. Aixphila, Hanmart, Tietz, Vincennes, Wim van der Bijl, and JF Stamps from Denmark.

The largest domestic players will also gather in Prague, as usual, with storage containers and other supplies for collectors offered directly by manufacturers such as Leuchturm, Lindner, and, newly, Safe.

Stamps from the German, Cypriot, Slovak, Belarusian, and Kyrgyz postal services, as well as the United Nations Postal Administration, will be available for purchase at face value. The Czech Mint will present a new product at the fair.

Historical and investment coins will be on display

The Czech Mint’s “Czech Lion” investment coin is celebrating its ninth anniversary and will undergo a major change in 2026 – Asamat Baltaev will be succeeded by his former teacher, the respected artist Vojtěch Dostál. The two authors will meet publicly for the first time on one stage at Sberatel.

At the Sberatel fair, the public will also have a unique opportunity to see one of the rarest and most beautiful examples of gold coins in Hungarian history. Macho & Chlapovič will exhibit an extremely rare five-ducat coin of Leopold I from 1669. This particular specimen is considered the most beautiful known piece of this minting and its value is estimated at more than €150,000.

This five-ducat coin is one of the jewels of Habsburg coinage and world numismatics. Visitors to the fair will thus have a unique opportunity to admire an extraordinary specimen that rarely appears outside the vaults of private collections.

Specialist publications will also be presented at the fair: Catalogue of Coins and Medals of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia 1918–2026 and Banknotes of Austria-Hungary, Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia 1918–2026.

A rare envelope from the Moon with an adventurous history will be exhibited for the first time at Sberatel

In 1971, the Apollo 15 crew secretly took 400 envelopes to the Moon. 100 were supposed to end up with German philatelist Hermann Walter Sieger. A scandal ensued: Sieger sold the envelopes immediately, the astronauts were removed from the Apollo program, and had to return the money.

Today, “Sieger covers” are extremely rare, and one of them is being exhibited at the fair for the first time. The Czech Post has prepared a postcard, a seven-stamp block, and a cancellation for this event.

Sberatel also targets the younger generation

Artist Pasta Oner, a pioneer of pop art and street art on the Czech scene, will present “Love Letter,” a new stamp from the Czech Post, at the Collector fair. Pasta Oner is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Czech visual art.

He started out in the graffiti scene in the early 1990s, and since 2003 he has been exhibiting on canvas, quickly transforming his brand into the remarkable aesthetics of postmodern pop art.

Four events for one ticket

This year, the Sberatel fair will again be accompanied by the Minerals and Precious Stones fair on both days. On Saturday, September 6, there will be a vinyl and CD exchange, Vinyl and Stereo Expo, and the Trading Expo and Alternative Investments conference.

Experts from various fields of investment and collecting will be on hand to advise you on how to collect and buy so that the value of your collection will only grow in the future.

As in previous years, it is possible to visit the fair a day earlier, on Thursday, September 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., after purchasing a so-called trade ticket. This ticket is then valid for the remaining days of the event.
