5. December, 2025

Prague City Tourism, the organisation responsible for promoting the capital city of Prague internationally, has issued a limited edition of its own postage stamps commemorating the 550th anniversary of the Powder Gate (Prašná brána). Concurrently, it has also minted a commemorative medal, which serves as the official souvenir for the release of the new Dan Brown novel, “The Secret of Secrets”.

A limited edition of postage stamps has been issued to mark the 550th anniversary of the completion of the Powder Gate (Prašná brána), the monumental entrance to the Old Town (Staré Město). This stamp sheet containing two landscape-oriented stamps. When both stamps on the sheet are used, it is possible to send an item of mail abroad.

The graphic design was created by Czech illustrator Vojtěch Šeda. The stamp was printed by Česká pošta (the Czech Post) in a total issue of 4,000 sheets.

The Secret of Secrets Medal: Available in Limited Quantity Only

The commemorative medal, titled The Secret of Secrets, was created in cooperation with Argo Publishing House as the official souvenir for the release of Dan Brown’s global bestseller, The Secret of Secrets, the plot of which is connected to Prague.

The medal is struck from polished brass, is gold in colour, and has a diameter of 39 mm. It was issued in a restricted series of 1,357 pieces. This number refers to the year the foundation stone of Charles Bridge (Karlův most) was laid.

The medal’s serial number is stated on the case (blister pack) in which it is mounted and from which it is visible on both sides. The medal was manufactured in the Czech Republic.

Follow in Robert Langdon’s Footsteps

The launch of Dan Brown’s new book is accompanied by a long-term campaign that includes special walking tours for both Czech and international audiences, in addition to original souvenirs.

These tours allow visitors to see locations such as the Klementinum building, which houses the National Library, the Old-New Synagogue (Staronová synagoga), the Folimanka bomb shelter (kryt Folimanka), or the Bastion at God’s Torment (Bastion U Božích muk), all of which play a role in the book.
